Welcome
Dear Friends,
Thank you for visiting my legislative website. It is my honor to serve the citizens of the 14th Senate District in the Illinois General Assembly. On this website you can learn about me, my initiatives, and legislation that is being pushed forth in the General Assembly.
Right now, my top priorities are bringing more jobs to the 14th district, finding a responsible solution to budget, and putting an end to business as usual in Springfield.
I always welcome feedback from my constituents, so if you have any questions, concerns, or ideas, please do not hesitate to contact me. I also hold periodic town-hall meetings, roundtables, and satellite office hours. Check the Constituent Services section of my website to learn about upcoming events.
Sincerely,
Senator Emil Jones III

CHICAGO – Two new grants from the U.S. Department of Labor will create nearly 1,300 jobs across Illinois to support the state’s ongoing pandemic response, and State Senator Emil Jones, III (D-Chicago) encourages job seekers to apply.
“Expanding job opportunities for unemployed workers is the most important asset we need in our current climate,” Jones said. “The creation of these jobs will help unemployed workers while assisting in the recovery of our community.”
CHICAGO – To help unemployed workers find jobs, State Senator Emil Jones (D-Chicago) is encouraging people to apply for the Illinois Department of Transportation’s seasonal snow-and-ice removal positions.
“The pandemic has left many workers unemployed and it has been hard for them to find other jobs,” Jones said. “IDOT’s snow removal positions are a great chance for people to seek employment through the agency. These snow removal jobs are critical in keeping our roads safe and could last beyond the winter season.”
CHICAGO – As COVID-19 continues to spread, State Senator Emil Jones, III (D-Chicago) encourages people to get tested if they have symptoms or come in contact with someone who is positive.
“To stop the spread of the COVID-19 virus in our communities, people who have symptoms need to get tested,” Jones said. “The process of being tested for the virus is simple, and there are sites across the state. I encourage people to get tested to prevent them from potentially passing on the virus to others.”
