 They met with Senator Jones to discuss the 36 percent cut to contracts that fund centers for independent living and the elimination of funding for the Community Reintegration Program under which centers for independent living assist people under the age of 60 transition from nursing homes to living on their own.  Senator Jones believes that these cuts would jeopardize programs that allow people with disabilities to have the dignity and self-assurance to participate fully and equally in their communities.
